The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) and the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) invites applications for a Clinical Microbiologist at the Regional Microbiology Laboratory (RML). The RML is located at TOH and is operated by EORLA providing comprehensive diagnostic microbiology service to eastern Ontario and the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). 

 The successful candidate will become a member of a group of 6 medical/clinical microbiologists providing regional coverage for microbiology in the Champlain LHIN and consultation/coverage for microbiology laboratories located at additional sites as needed. Participation in the microbiology regional on-call roster, teaching and residency training program is required. The development of an individual or collaborative research program is strongly encouraged. This position includes a fulltime appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa commensurate with experience and qualifications 

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in a related scientific field and be certified or eligible for certification by either Canadian (FCCM) or American (ABMM) specialty boards. Obtaining appropriate certification is a requirement of this position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
