This 0.30 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Edmonton Zone Medical Director and the Edmonton Zone IPC Medical Director and the Provincial IPC Medical Director.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that IPC clinical standards of care are being met and Alberta Health Services policies and procedures are followed. The successful candidate will work with the  medical and administrative IPC leadership team in the Edmonton Zone to ensure all hospitals and programs have adequate IPC medical support.

The position has an expected start date of approximately May 1^st 2022 and an expected term of 3 years. It may be combined with clinical service in the division of infectious diseases or medical microbiology.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have completed post graduate training in infectious diseases or medical microbiology. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety.   S/he will be an inclusive and visionary leader with some experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.

Candidates must be certified by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCFP), be eligible to work in Canada, hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and hold or be eligible for appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.  Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
