INfection Prevention and Control (IPAC) - vancouver, BCIPAC is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which plans, manages and evaluates specialized health services with the BC health authorities to provide equitable and cost-effective health care for people throughout the province. You will be part of a network of more than 2,700 specialized physicians who impact patient care daily, within the largest network of tertiary services in B.C. Responsibilities
Clinical administration (e.g., on call, consulting with IPAC team members on
challenging situations such as patient care, outbreak investigations, etc.), teaching,
program development and research. The successful candidate is expected to
demonstrate a strong commitment to best practice and advancing knowledge in
the field of Infection Prevention and Control. Additionally, there is an expectation of
excellence in and commitment to teaching across the spectrum of learners. Strong
inter-professional skills in working in complex environments, personal interest in
Infection Prevention and Control and a commitment to a clinical academic sub-
specialty environment will ensure success in this role. The successful candidate will
be expected to forge productive collaborations with other members of the
institution, the university as well as provincial, national and international
collaborators. In addition to stellar academic qualifications, a proven track record of
demonstrated excellence in teaching and superb clinical credentials.
The successful candidate must be eligible for licensing with the College of
Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia as well as Royal College of Physicians
and Surgeons of Canada certification in Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases
and/or Public Health. Formal IPAC training and/or IPAC experience, as well as
leadership experience is preferred.
