Infectious Disease Locum

Joseph Brant Hospital - Burlington, ON

The Division of Infectious Disease in the Department of Medicine at Joseph Brant
Hospital (JBH) currently has a locum position available through until July 31, 2022. Weare a busy, full service community hospital servicing the city of Burlington with a
population of 175,000. Our medicine program has 3 inpatient units, with more than
4,000 inpatient admissions per year, totaling more than 30,000 patient days.

Our physician model of care streamlines admissions through internal medicine
hospitalists and dedicated physician coverage to the medicine units. You will join a
Department of both generalists and subspecialists including: Cardiology,
Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Haematology, Neurology, Respirology, Medical
Oncology and Infectious Disease. We have a 24 bed ICU with dialysis in the ICU, a CancerCentre, robust specialty back-up services and excellent access to diagnostic imaging services, including CT, MRI and extended hours for ultrasound. Infectious Disease is supported by the Regional Microbiology Laboratory, Infection Prevention and ControlTeam, and ID/ASP Pharmacist.

We are a clinical education campus of McMaster University and candidates with strong teaching skills/experience will be given preference as a teaching commitment is required. Candidates must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an FRCPC Certificate of Competency in Infectious Diseases and registration with (or eligibility for) the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario are required. Established physicians and graduating residents are both encouraged to apply.
