Infectious Diseases Specialist – Locum Opportunity
Grey Nuns Community Hospital - edmonton, abCovenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for an Infectious Diseases Specialist LOCUM at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
This is a 6-month locum opportunity starting December 1, 2021.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide adult infectious diseases clinical services for a period of 5 weeks over the term of the locum, which will include (but will not be limited to) inpatient consultation and ambulatory clinics (IV Clinic, management of HIV patients, outpatient department); and participation in/equitable share of weekend on call inpatient consultation services to patients at the Grey Nuns and University of Alberta Hospitals.
This locum role also includes a medical leadership component, with Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and Quality Improvement responsibilities in the capacity of Medical Director, ASP (0.45 FTE) over the term of the locum.
Remuneration for all direct patient-related services is based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
The successful candidate will be an MD with certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Additional training or experience in Infection Prevention & Control is preferred.
