COVID-19 Health and Safety
The priority of both AMMI Canada and CACMID is to create a safe environment at the annual conference. As the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is constantly evolving, we will meet or exceed the standards set by the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, the Health Authority for British Columbia, and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
Participants are attending the conference in person voluntarily and with knowledge of the risk involved, as even exceeding public health guidance cannot guarantee protection from the virus that causes COVID-19. We thank you for your cooperation in advance to ensure everyone’s safety.
Proof of Vaccination required for all participants
As per British Columbia’s restrictions, proof of vaccination will be required to attend the conference in person. Both provincial and federal proof of vaccination will be accepted. The registration team will verify the document and check your valid government photo ID. No information will be scanned, stored, or copied. Once the proof of vaccination has been verified, you will receive your conference lanyard, which will then serve as an identifier to the hotel staff that your vaccination status has been verified and will permit you access to the meeting space and restaurants without having to provide proof of vaccination to hotel staff. While on property it is important to always wear or have with you your lanyard as your vaccination verification.
Masks required for in person participation
In Vancouver, wearing masks in public indoor settings is no longer required. Wearing a mask is a personal choice. The conference planning committee is strongly recommending masks be worn in high-traffic and high-occupancy areas and when in close proximity to others. It is recommended you choose a mask that fits properly and is comfortable enough to wear for the duration you require it.
All Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre staff and associates are required by Marriott to be fully vaccinated and to continue to wear masks.
The conference planning committee recommends daily self-assessments and good hand hygiene.
Thank you and enjoy the Conference!
