Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, invites applications for a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the clinical assistant/associate professor level to join a Section of 7 colleagues. This position is currently supported as 100% clinical activity. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise across the full spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases inpatient, outpatient, Urgent Consultation Service, and ambulatory clinic settings, and on-call services. This position may be filled by more than one physician depending on the Section’s needs.

The Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases works closely with colleagues in the Section of Pediatric Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatric Immunology, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Pediatrics and Pediatric intensive Care. We are a regional bone marrow transplant center.  Areas of special clinical interest such as infections in the immunocompromised host, transplant-related infections and clinical aspects of vaccine impact, safety and hesitancy are additionally highly valued.

The Department of Pediatrics has over 300 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

Qualifications include certification in Pediatrics and a Certificate of Special Competence in Pediatric Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible for independent Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Must read, write and speak English.
