A position for a Medical Microbiologist (negotiable FTE commitment between 0.5 -1.0 FTE) at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) Regional Microbiology Laboratory is available within the integrated practice of Dr. C.J. Coady Associates. The microbiology laboratory is amongst one of the largest for acute care medicine in Canada and provides comprehensive diagnostic services for the Fraser Health Authority (FHA). The Medical Microbiologists also provide support to the Infection Prevention and Control program within the FHA. The FHA consists of over 3000 acute care beds and provides care to over 1.9 million people from Burnaby to Hope, BC.  SMH is a teaching hospital and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia, providing training for medical students, residents, and fellows. The start date is Autumn 2023.

The successful candidate will join a team of 6 Medical Microbiologists. Qualified candidates must be fully licensed with the B.C. College of Physicians and Surgeons and must hold specialist qualifications in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful candidate will be eligible for clinical academic appointment through the University of British Columbia. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without restriction i.e., Canadians and permanent residents of Canada.
