The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is seeking a full-time academic clinical microbiologist to provide leadership in molecular microbiology. The successful applicant will provide professional expertise for a large academic laboratory program serving the Central South Region of Ontario. HRLMP is a regional laboratory program jointly administered by Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. The position will have a concurrent academic appointment at an appropriate rank in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.
We seek enthusiastic and experienced candidates with a Ph.D. and Clinical Microbiology certification (FCCM and/or D(ABBM)), with extensive demonstrated knowledge of the clinical microbiology laboratory. Experience in the development, verification and implementation of molecular tests and in microbial/viral sequencing is required, and bioinformatics skills would be a strong asset. The successful candidate will assume academic responsibilities including laboratory service, research and teaching.
