Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Medical Advisory Committee, the Medical Director, IPAC is an outstanding clinician who can direct the effective delivery of clinical services and integrate evidence based IPAC practices into clinical care, teaching, and research in alignment with TOH’s mission, vision, values, policies, and strategic plan.
In conjunction with the IPAC Director and Manager, the Medical Director will oversee the IPAC program at TOH. The Medical Director will build strong relationships with key internal and external partners and will promote, implement and support IPAC best practices. Responsibilities include providing consultation, recommendations, and guidance to IPAC staff and medical and administrative leadership in relation to IPAC practices, surveillance, outbreak management, emerging threats, policy development, and education. The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring that TOH meets current IPAC standards.
As The Ottawa Hospital embarks on building its new campus to replace the Civic, the Infection, Prevention and Control Team will be a part of this new state-of-the-art facility that will serve the region for generations to come.
