Infectious Disease Specialist

Joseph Brant Hospital - Burlington, ON

Joseph Brant Hospital (JBH) is seeking an Infectious Diseases (ID) Specialist to join the Department of Medicine as an associate staff member.

As a member of the ID division, the successful candidate will have both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties. Our ID division provides care to a wide variety of patients and is supported by a dedicated ID/Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist, the Infection Prevention and Control team, and the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program.

Our innovative and rapidly expanding hospital-based outpatient practice provides care through an ID Clinic for complex infectious diseases. The clinic provides consultative services for infections of the blood, heart, bone, post-operative infections, tropical diseases and infections in children.

In addition to clinical excellence and strong interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute as a clinician-teacher at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level, as JBH is a clinical education campus of McMaster University.

Candidates must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an FRCPC Certificate of Competency in Infectious Diseases. Registration with (or eligibility for) the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is required. Established physicians and graduating residents are both encouraged to apply.
