Infectious Diseases (Locum)
Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton - Hamilton, ONThe Infectious Diseases Service at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton are inviting applicants for a 12 month term/locum position, ideally starting in early 2023. Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton are tertiary care hospital organizations with a combined 7 hospital sites serving a catchment area of 2.3 million people. The successful candidate(s) are expected to work primarily at two of our acute care sites in the city: The Hamilton General Hospital site is the referral center for burn injuries, trauma, neurosurgery and stroke, vascular and spine surgery, cardiology and cardiac surgery, and is the ECMO center in the region. The St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton Charlton Campus is the local referral center for renal transplant and for patients who require advanced respiratory care.
Applicants will have completed specialty training in Internal Medicine and further fellowship training in Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will provide a minimum of 20 weeks of in-patient infectious diseases consultation service and cover 5-6 weekends of multi-site call annually, and will be expected to run a longitudinal outpatient clinic.
As we are a clinical education campus of McMaster University, there is a required commitment to teaching while on clinical service, therefore candidates with teaching skills and experience will be given preference.
