Halton Healthcare is seeking a Locum Infectious Diseases Consultant to join the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases between July 2022 and May 2023 for the full or partial duration. Halton Healthcare is three site community hospital, with acute care sites at Oakville, Milton and Georgetown. The successful candidate will be responsible to cover up to 12 weeks of the inpatient ID consultation service (including associated weekends) and ideally an additional twelve weeks of outpatient referrals received at an off site clinic near the Oakville site (shared with the other three infectious diseases specialists). There will be no requirement for internal medicine coverage.
Candidates must have an independent license or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). They must have certification with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Adult or Pediatric Infectious Diseases, or in Internal Medicine with a Certificate of Special Competence in Infectious Diseases if ID training was not undertaken in Canada. Interested candidates with a paediatrics background should have some experience in adult infectious diseases. Medical Microbiology certification is an asset, but not a requirement.
