Clinical Academic Position – Paediatric Infectious Diseases Locum

Department of Paediatrics, Western University, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, London, ON

The Department of Paediatrics, Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is seeking a Locum coverage for the Division of Paediatric Infectious Diseases. The successful applicant will join the Division of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, London, ON. The team members include four physicians , a nurse practitioner and a pharmacist. Within the clinical mandate of the Department and Division, the successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation. The position will comprise approximately 90% clinical service and 10% non-clinical work. During the locum period, the applicant will be encouraged (but not mandated) to engage in research and teaching activities that the division is involved in.

Candidates for this position must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario. Subspecialty certification in Paediatrics and Paediatric Infectious Diseases from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent is required. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and hold appropriate liability coverage. The candidate will be interacting with medical students and residents during the course of the locum, we will arrange a temporary appointment as an Adjunct/MD professor in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, as per Western University requirements.

The anticipated start date for the position is June 1, 2024 pending hospital credentialing.
